Manifold headers?????????
hi again everyone, I am going to buy stainless manifold headers and up pipe but i would like to know whether to keep the unequal length pipes or, go for equal length as i have been told that equal length would be better for performance?

i thinking the same but im more likey to get unequal because i'd like to keep the scooby rumble... still looking around for prices at the moment not sure where to get them from.... i was looking at flat 4 but people have had bad experiences with that website ....
check out this link ...i thought the price was good n seems to have everything like 304 stainless steel....etc....

The answer to that is "no"......I currently run a set of RCMS headers.. so there is no bias
I've been on SN for a good number of years and I'd find it difficult to challenge Harvey's honesty and knowlege.....especially on this particular topic

IMO: If your power goals are anything under 350BHP, consider ported standard headers. Equal length SS headers will lose the "Scooby rumble" resulting in an apparently quieter car. There are or were plenty of vids on youtube for comparison.
Oh, and if you change the headers for aftermarket, it's recommended to remap.

For turbos of VF34/35, TD05-16g size and above I would recommend decent aftermarket tubular headers.

Id be inclined to have a set of Harvey Smiths ported cast OEM manifolds. They wont crack either, something that Andy Forrest is still struggling to achieve with fabricated manifolds, I believe.

I'd be more concerned about either getting the headers ceramic coated or bandaged wrapped for heat retention.
