Classic door mirrors - glass removal - how?
Hi, have set of classic mirrors that I want to disassemble prior to colour coding, but there seems no obvious way to remove the mirror glass.
Have used the search and found references to it not being obvious, but that it can be done, bit not the answer as to how.
So anyone able to help and tell me how tyo get the glass out and in one piece.
Thanks in advance.

Yes.
Its a combination of a stick pad, and the edge of the black plastic holding the glass in.
Pour the hot water directly over the glass, this heats up the black plastic, then you should be able to wedge something like a credit card, gently between the glass and black plastic, and thats it.
Then there is a bout 3 screws holding the plastic on.

@simog - they are currently blue and I am painting them red, the blue wraps round down the side of the glass and hence I want the whole mirror red even if you are unlikely to see it.... yes I am like that LOL!

Heated up the plastic round the mirror with a hairdryer and on the long edge at the top slid an old credit card in between the glass and the plastic surround. Carried on heating it and moved the card around until half the mirror was out of the surround. Slid the card behind the mirror and levered the glass from one of the two sticky pads and was then able to easily pull it out with no damage to glass or plastic surround.
Stripped rest of mirrors including removing pins from coinnector block (noting orientation first of course). Now have mirrors in pieces with the mount and mirror body ready for spraying.
Will post again when I reassemble - maybe that is where I will come unstuck
