Yes, only 2 months and 7 days after it broke down, the Guzzi is fixed. As expected, the fault was a crank speed sensor. It took 3 weeks to get the relevant test data and another 2 weeks of waiting for the part.
Many many thanks to everyone present for rallying around and doing all you could to help me out, as well as the texts of support when it became apparent the bike was not fixable at the roadside. You are a top bunch of people and hopefully our paths will cross again!
