Was driving to Oxford and there before I knew it was onee of these bl**dy mobile speed cameras with the mandatory white van......

Question - arent these things meant to 'advertised' - ie at least a cursory sign in front of the van 'police speed camera' ? Thought the recent ruling stated that these things should also be visible from the road and unobstructed (this one was hidden by the van)..... ?

May phone the police tommorrow and clarify this..... any help beforehand would be useful

U sure it was a speed camera and not a DVLA tax thing ? The van speed cameras are usually IN the van !

 

Pretty sure - it was taking photos of the back of the cars over 'speed strip markings' - the camera & flash were on a tripod...

Like it took a photo of the guy who was belting along up behind me - stoppped him tail gating me for the rest of the journey though

I think it only has to be highlighted if it is a permanent camera - mobiles exempt (could be wrong)

 

We currently have a mobile van, most luchtimes, on the hill near us - just parked in the lay-by with back doors open - camera sticking out the back, looking UP the hill -taking frontal shots ....................... funny though - this camera had a nasty looking growth on it ............ oooops I have just remembered, it was the Coppa!!!! just joking

No changes they can be as devious as ever. They are trying a new camera with polorizing filter for those forward facing,to id the driver
