Default Ok to disconnect battery?

Some may have seen my other thread regarding not being able to turn the immobilizer off on me Scoob, found the problem...... that battery was flat as a turd!!

Car hasn't been used for a week but wouldn't have thought this should cause a great prob??

Is it ok to disconnect the battery and charge it?? (Car has been re-mapped so not sure if removing the battery will affect anything???).

Thanks

The Tracker seems to draw the battery down. I put my Scoob up on bricks for the winter and I now have to disconnect the battery as it was always getting drained.

Also, Subaru batteries are pretty crap, had both replaced under warranty.

You will not upset any mapping, only the radio station tuning!

Does the scooby radio/cd player require a key code to be entered once you reconnect the battery?

I don't have a code for mine and as such has always stopped me from disconnecting the battery.

All that happened when I removed the battery/connected the other one up was the Radio did re-set (lost stored stations) but did not require any codes to be re-entered.

I did read on another thread that someone found that when they pulled the stereo out of the dash they found the code printed on it, not sure if this is how they all are but you could always take a look should you need it.

I've not used mine for about 10 days. Battery flat when I tried to start her today. Connected some jump leads & that didn't work either Could it be the immobilizer ie can't turn it off as battery is flat? Same problem as the OP?

TX.

Edit - note to self, take her out for a spin every few days!

This was the same problem I had, couldn’t turn the immobilizer off as the battery didn’t have enough juice, which I eventually worked out. I guess the alarm/immobilizer sees it as “tampering”.
I connected another battery to the original then was able to turn the alarm/immobilizer off and in turn start it.
Has anyone ever spoken with the tracker people about these things as they seem to be the main cause of this problem?
