Where to buy decent replica rear spoiler?
Where is the best place to buy a replica spoiler either WRC or STI 8? I want something that will bolt straight onto the 4 holes left by the original spolier on a Blobeye and for the holes on the rep to line up correctly so no alterations needed. Willing to pay up to about £500 painted....any ideas??
Did you have one of these on yours? I have seen the ones on ScoobyWorld and DRMotorsport, just trying to work out which is best or if anywhere else does them better...
other people have their spoilers and never complained. never used drmotorsport, so cant comment, but having looked on both sites recently, better than a cheap ebay replica. and well priced too.

To give the other side of the story:
About 5 years ago, I bought a VERY good replica. I had it sprayed and fitted it myself. The bodyshop which sprayed it commented on how good it was. It cost over £300, unpainted.
Recently, (this spring), I noticed that it was bubbling and rippling. It had already cracked twice and I'd had to repair it and empty water out
I took it to a well regarded bodyshop, who commented straight away that it was f/glass, so I could expect it to start going, and that nowt I, or they, could do, would stop it

I now have a genuine one, bought off e-bay, fitted and sprayed, and would NOT advise anyone to buy replicas.

As said, buy a genuine one if you can find one on ebay for a decent price.
Otherwise, the ones from Scoobyworld are most probs the better replicas around. I got mine from there, and was definetly better than my previous sti8 replica.

I've had spoilers and other parts from drmotorsport, and I've also used scoobyworld for other bits and bobs.
I can recommend both companies, and they're both highly regarded on various Subaru forums.
So I'd always say buy from a respected dealer rather than ebay rubbish where there's virtually no comeback.
For the STi8 spoiler scoobyworld are a bit more expensive, maybe due to having to pay for their new premises
I should add, that if you do manage to get a genuine spoiler, try to get the STi bootlid too. Genuine spoilers have a dozen or so bolts on the bottom so you will need to drill and extra 8 holes in your boot lid.

£220 couriered to my door.
It had MINOR damage to the piece under the brakelight, (one of it's lugs that scrrew it to the spoiler had broken off, and the brakelight seal was suspect, so I repaired both, the first with some ABS and proper ABS solvent, and the second with clear silicone.
Had it sprayed and fitted properly.
The only disappointment is that I thought it would weigh less than the f/glass one did, but it doesn't seem to, you still have to be careful closing the boot

lol - made me chuckle!
The reason they are slightly more than some other suppliers is due to the construction - all made from hard polyurethane, not the cheaper grp/fibreglass. And built for us in Italy to ISO9001 (quality standard).
We felt moving to a new Italian factory and better quality / higher grade construction was the only way forward as the quality of the fibreglass and grp spoilers coming out of the factories we were previously buying from was getting steadily worse!
At the end of the day you get what you pay for.

I've just bought a genuine one from Jap Performance for £375 already in my required colour. So will I now need to drill more holes in the boot or will it just fix with the original 4 holes?
