gettin sick, pinking and misfiring.
please help, i have a 96 sti red top ver2.
i started the car one morning and imediatley noticed it shaking. at 1500 revs or above misfire clears
i thought this was simple misfire, carried out compression test-ok. replaced coils and plugs-no difference.
i have tried various components from a friends sti eg MAF sensor, Crank sensor, knock sensor, idle control and turbo solenoid.
i have also carried out faults check, all clear.
now since the morning of 28/06/08 the car runs like a bag of hammers [pinking] once you get above 4000 RPM it drives ok. any time before 4000 rpm it doesnt want to know. any ideas please. kev moff
