im looking at changing my current magnex backbox for something a bit louder, now this is where i get confused, what are your opinions of the tsl firestorm and afterburner vortex, and also apart from the decat center on the nur spec r what is the difference between the spec s and spec r , i already have a decat center pipe fitted the car is a classic

There is no differance between the actual back boxes of the spec s and the spec r, just that as you have already said the spec r have the decat pipe.

Between the vortex and the firestorm I would personally choose the vortex, but it is very loud!!

yes there will be a difference.

the pipe work in the nur spec r is 3" internal diameter (backbox and centre section) which tapers to 2.5" for the downpipe. but the nur spec s is 2.5" diameter pipework on the backbox to mate with any centre section also 2.5" diameter.

so the nur spec r will be louder as thicker internal dimensions and more free flowing air.

depends on how loud you want it. i have a nur spec-r decat along with a decat downpipe and that is ridiculously loud. just how i like it... makes boobies wobble

the firestorm and vortex are also very loud systems when fully decatted, possibly with tiny sound differences.

on my scoobs ive had a totally standard pee shooter system, an sti catback system, an afterburner decat system with a ninja backbox and the current nur spec-r decat.

ninja system was a beautiful sound, but not as good as the blitz

 

even more confused now, having just seen the tsl ti-phoon, i have now narrowed it down to the tsl or afterburner, is there any sound difference between the 2?

 

who sells the vortex and the ninja?
