Subaru dealer Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 motorsport ok to mix?
Hi,
My car was serviced yesterday, and re-filled with the Subaru dealer only version of Mobil 1 (5w40?).
I need to either obtain a litre of this for top-ups, or alternatively mix with Mobil 1 Motorsport (or similar).
Does anybody know where I can get a litre of Mobil 1 5w40, or advise if it is ok to mix with Mobil 1 motorsport (15w40) in the sump?. I presume that standard 0w30 Mobil 1 would be too thin for the car.
The dealer is supplied with a large drum of 5w40 Mobil 1, and so it is difficult to obtain in small quantities from them...
Thanks,
Alex

If your car is in warranty - I wouldn't mix them. Can't believe your dealer can't just put a litre into a bottle for you.
If he really can't / won't, speak to Jim Childs at Cheam Motors who will (I carry a litre of the 5W40 obtained from him).
Cheers
