Default sti servicing

Hi there everyone new to the site and about to purchase my first subaru sti on saturday it's a 2003 sti with 50,000 on the clock and i'm wondering where the best/cheapest place in the northwest is for the 50k servicing inc cambelt.
i'm from warrington cheshire, but willing to travel on recommendations,also the car has a slight bangin from the rear shock told it needs new bushes is this correct and is this a cheap job,cheers ste
hope this question is in the right part of the forum.

Rear shockers failing is a common problem. They went on mine and were replaced under warranty. I would guess they would be between at least 200 quid to replace, only a guess though.
Just noticed the pictured car has a tow bar, get rid if you dont need it as it spoils the look of the car imo.
Check the service history, big service at 30k not sure when the next one is though.

Nik.

yeh the guy told me the car got recalled for the rear shock under warranty and was changed,but reckons it's just the bushes on the nearside rear shock that needs doing can this be the case that it is just the bushes? and yeh the towbar was off when i viewed the car and won't be going back on, it's a detachable one so it just clips on/off, he used to pull a small trailer.

Hi mate do a search for places to service. Off top of head there is Prosport in Stockport, Graham Walker in Chester. Must be dealers/specialists in Manchester. I'm not too far away from you and use Holdcroft in Newcastle U-L.

Also I suspect you will find you are strongly advised to get both rear shockers done at same time, even if one seems OK.

Some of us from Smacs are using Adam at Autotechnica in Buxton. He used to work for Monk's Heath Subaru and has now setup on his own.
His prices are excellent at around £270 for 50km cambelt service.

I recently got a quote of Subaru specialist Carnetix who have had excellent reviews on here this is what i recieved ;

The cost of our 50k service is 343.98 including vat. We use Millers fully synthetic 10w60 oil and genuine Subaru filter. We use Dayco competition cam belts.

Hope this helps.

Might be a little far though. Hope it helps mate.
