So when is the minger making its debut in the wrc, what round and where ?

 

I was told its in Greece.

 

Will it be wearing a brown paper bag over its head because if i was that car i wouldn`t want to show my face in public ?

 

Despite what you hear, a decision has NOT been made as yet, although we have a few potential dates we are working towards. It will probably be a month or so before a decision is taken and we start to put things in place. Once it's public knowledge I'll let you all know...

Lets look at it from another angle then.

Would you marry a minger ? Would you date a minger ? Would you want your mates to see you out and about with a minger ?

A car is a reflection of your personality so if you want to be seen out with a minger then by all means buy the new shape impreza and enjoy it.

Its already debued in the pwrc in sweden with toshi arai, 15th overall if im not mistaken, icluding pwrc and wrc

 

I think it will be Finland as thats the beginning of the second half of the season. Ford always release their new versions there and its also where the Impreza was first launched onto the rally scene in 1993.

 

Your right but it was a "Production class" (old group N) PWRC Car, it was not a WRC IIRC


i've heard they are "Aiming" for Finlad dates but will try it sooner if ready

From what I hear, GB may be too early to get it out...

Minger? is it as bad as a bugeye? Remember all the negative comments when that came out - time dulls memories I think!

For me, its not what it looks like, its how it drives! (How many Mingers are great in the sack? - Thats speculative by the way - I'm not saying I bed mingers!)

Im looking forward to seeing it in WRC Spelder, as uptil now i havent been overly impressed by its looks ( although i accept its a cracking car ).

The older Scoobys were a nicer looking car IMO.. although still only ugly by some peoples taste...

That is how ever until i saw the new 08 on the Chargespeed page.. it does look very nice...admittidly thats with a couple of K of body kit on.
Im not sure its nice enough for me to get one over the 07 but .. hmmm I wonder what my view of it will be in a years time.. maybe its a grower..

Personally i do think its fair to say the vast majority of scooby owners dont like the new impreza,the bugeye(and i dont really like em)was still a 4 door saloon which with mods can be made to look ok,however a 5door hatch just dont cut it for most in impreza guise-couldnt care less how it drives as the looks put me off buying it in the first place as for mods to make it look ok-it`d be some kinda kit that loses the hatch an gives ya a saloon conversion-even so still very iffy about the rest of the styling.

At the end of the day just hope the wrc car does well,would still like to see the drivers doing well-lets face it it`s been a while since their were any decent amount of success for subaru.

 

Yes, it did take part in the pwrc production car class, but was still faster than some full on WRC cars. looking good

For everyone out there, we have NOT made a decision yet. We have a few potential dates but do not know when this will be as the car still has numerous other tests to go through....

 

After all this is the Internet Scoobynet and has much wider Audience than the say SIDC and lots try to be controversial or think hearsay and assumptions has more value Official comments IMHO

swrtmgmt, even you must slightly admit that the designers must have drew up that design during happy hour at their local pub

 

Kind of you to offer old boy, but we'll stay with MM for the moment since he has a good grasp on the future development of the car. But your offer is most kind and appreciated!

 

I'm not going to answer that question as I know opinion has been divided on the new car. However, the new WRC car does, in my mind, looks very neat. I fully understand it is not the same as previous Scooby's, and thus will incur people's (valid) opinions, but the simple fact is that while a 4 door car was good, this is an old design that has outlived it's potential and a new car is required. Subaru needed to meet the mainstream market, which is hatchbacks rather than 4 door's, and this is the result. They could probably have continued with a 4 door car but in both WRC terms and market forces, they would have been starting from further behind the current crop of talent.

Our job is to turn the car into a WRC winner, and that remains our single goal. Regardless of the looks of the car, if it wins and starts to appear on the top step of the podium, then people care less about looks and join to celebrate the victory.

I trust, therefore, many of you will continue to support the team and once we start to win again, which the new car aims to do, you'll be happy to stand up and shout about your team and the victories.
