Im going to fit an oil pressure gauge to keep an eye on things and couldnt find anything on the search to find out the actual normal readings for a 94WRX import.

If anybody could advise plus an easy fitting gauge apart from defi would be helpfull

 

it varies slightly from engine to engine, the tighter they are the better pressure etc.

my 95 WRX,when HOT,

idles at 2 bar
cruises at 5 bar

COLD startup is 6 bar

Hot readings could be a little better,but its 13 yrs old,75k on it etc and prob been thrapped in japan !

some people have COLD startup at 7-8 Bar etc

 

Depends on the oil too. In these winter temperatures I had 7 bar cold startup on 15w50 Motul 300V, and now have 6 bar on 10w60 Millers CFS.

Hot idle is 2-and-a-bit, hot cruise is 6ish.
