G/Box code TY856 WN 6KA.

Its defo a UK box, year 06, but is it DCCD or NON DCCD.

or are all UK 6 speed g/box's NON DCCD.

All WN up to 2006 are non dccd.

Had someone look at the box today, its a 06 UK Box with DCCD.

This was going in my classic shape and still is hopefully, what do you think, has this way been done before ?

Apparently i can still mate this to a UK rear diff and retain my driveshafts hubs, brakes etc, and wire the dccd to a relay and switch, to have diff locked or not locked, 2 positions only.

This has been done before on some rally cars, to do away with the variable switch gear and ecu to control it.

or should i invest in switch gear and ecu to control it.

What are your thoughts.

As DD says above, buy the neetronics and do it that way. Wired the way you suggest is no use on a road car. That way works for launch strategy and also on gravel rallies where you can chuck the car at a corner in a full slide. The box you have is from a hawkeye then.

Driving like that on the road attracts attention and tends to alarm oncoming traffic.

Apart from all else it not good for the dccd to hook it to a switch, first of all the dccd work on 5V, so you need that or you will burn the dccd eventually, that rally cars does it depends on the fact that they strip the box 'all the time', and only engage it during those short ss-bursts (and they may have them working on 5V too for all I know).
Besides, a neetronics box is a marvel :-)

On the topic, I have exactly the same code on my 6g' dccd (uk/euro gearing), bought from Grade A about a year ago, I was under the impression that my R180 w/ hubs (5*100) was from the same car, but that's not possible then? It doesn't seem to have front lsd, was this optional?

A non-dccd IS easier. One more problem with the dccd one is that the increased torque to rear axle means you really want a stronger rear diff, preferably with lsd (R180) which means shaft, hubs and brakes from newage STi too since the shafts are thicker.... But dccd is fun
