Default Hi all

Hi all,

Im new on here and just about to purchase my first subaru wrx import, I live in the rhymney valley about 40mins from cardiff. Is there anywhere where you guys would recommend where to get the car serviced and checked out.

Any help would appreciated

Cheers all

Welcome to the forum many on here highly rate Andy at ACE Motorsport in Newbridge, not sure of the number but someone will be along soon with it for you.

Edit to say, if its a fresh import better get the ECU map checked out as if its a jap one they used 102 Ron fuel and the best we can do over here is 99 Ron.
Dint want it going pop on you.

If you are running it around I'd be sticking in a slug of octane booster and keeping off the boost until you can get it checked.

Welcome matey... Andy's numbers are 01495244555 and 07866736878 he can be tough to get hold so just keep trying.

As Kev has said above getting the car mapped for UK fuel is the first step for a fresh import.

Default Hi

Thanks for the info everyone, its my first scooby like I said but the car as been in the uk for 4 years since the previous owner bought it, been serviced every 3000 miles so it should be in mint condition even though i still want to get it checked out, When i pick the car up ill give Ace a bell. Does the south wales part of the club have regular meets and where?

The first mod is to put velcro on your wallet......

And we will all have something for sale so it will pay to ask before you buy

It may have been that the car had not been used for a while. However, check all the levels and don't forget the Gearbox dipstick.
