Default Its a nasty world out there!!

One of my collegues at work posts on here as RSRAY rang in on Monday saying his daughter had been attacked and was in Hospital

http://www.harlowherald.co.uk/conten...A44%3A27%3A960

Something really needs to be done when young teenagers are getting attacked for no reason with iron bars !!

Thankfully his daughter and her friend are recovering physically but God only knows what the mental effect will be !!!

Far to PC in my opinion

The Courts need to get tough!!!

No point the Police arresting people these days as the courts do not treat them seriously.

Can't wait until I become a magistrate

Kin right phil, our punishments are virtually non existant.

All these little ***** just laugh at our law & order with the whole "you cant do nothing to me" attitude.

We keep voting back in the same tree hugging, PC pr1cks that call themselves our goverenment and nothing will ever get better.

We need a death penalty for murders and kiddie fidlers, free up our jails for some of these little pikey chavs to sit in

that is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS!!! however, as this country seem to be more worried about people driving the "wrong" type of car or cars which are to loud this sort of outrage is only going to get worse until labour get their heads out of their own ar53s and start tackling REAL issues affecting everyday people!!!

PS. glad to hear the kids are recovering from their physical damage, let's just hope the mental side will not be to bad for them.

I'm sick of hearing stories like this.....

What has happened to the world when this type of thing occurs?

I used to go out on my bike when i was my sons age and stay out till it was dark and the worst that would happen would be I'd graze my knees falling off it....

What has changed in sociaty? When I was young there was no gangsta rap, films with violence were banned and you'd only hear about them through word of mouth and would NEVER probably find a copy. Would films like Death Wish get banned today?

The most violent computer game was Probably Boot Hill, when you might get shot by a white dot?

We never had anything worth stealing.... When i was 15, the most i walked the streets with was a £4 walkman that only had fast forward!!!!! Today they have £400 I-phones...

Something has to give!!!!! I can see a time when "good people" decide that they have had enough of people that choose to try and feel good by intimidation and start fighting back!!!!

I hope the little girl gets over this quickly .....

Its also the lack of respect these yobs show to the Police

I used to be "scared" of the Police if I was caught cycling without lights or on the pavement !!

My Kids respect the Police and Authority [or they would be in for a kick up the ****]

Unbelievable!!

As mentioned, the country has gone PC mad, I personally think corporal punishment should be brought back in. When I was at school, the thought of getting the cane put most kids of doing wrong, but now all the kids get is detention or put on report, what sort of deterent is that?

When I was a kid, we played knock down ginger, but we had a golden rule, never knock on old peopl'e homes and that was never broken, now days, there isn't much respect and gangs seem to do what they want to do

unfortunately Phil, it's not only a lack of respect kids have towards the police they also have a lack of direction etc from home. When kids think they can get away with almost anything at home, then they will take that onto the streets with them.

I for 1 believe parents should be held more accountable to the behaviour of their kids. When i was a nipper the words "wait til your dad gets home" scared the c*** out of me, now days the kid will probably just bugger off out.

At the end of the day society is broken, there are now generations of families that all share the same beliefs.

They have no respect for themselves so are obviously not going to respect others or any authorative figures, there needs to be a massive about turn in how these scum are dealt with.

Unfortunately for every person that wants to show these people what for, there are another 4 that want to try to 'help' them with a gentle slap on the wrist or sending them on 'holiday' for a bit of rehab.

I just think that this country is not a nice place to live no more, and I must admit for the first time in my life I honestly would prefer to live elsewhere, and that is coming from someone who considers themselves very proud and patriotic towards England.

But where will it all end, we cannot go on like this but can anyone see this actually getting better in the near future

I agree with all of the above, but what you've got to remember is that even parents aren't allowed to discipline their kids, you can get into trouble, knocking sense into your kids these days, and the kids know it...
I lost count how many times I got a beating from my parents for even talking to them in the wrong tone, theses days every thing has changed, kids have no respect for anyone or anything... Unless you make them

I hope the youngster involved, physical injuries heal soon, but the long term mental trauma will take years to recover from will they feel safe riding their bikes ever again

I totally agree with you on all parts. I applied to emigrate to New Zealand a few years ago and passed their requirements with flying colours as they're crying out for Engineers, but the only reason why I stayed in this country is because of my 8 year old daughter

We once told Ali that if he was naughty he'd get a bar of soap in his mouth.... (would never ever do it!!!!!!), just a threat and a figure of speech....

Afew days later the head at his school called us in to remind us that doing this would be child abuse... (cheers son, lol)

First drug dealing.. and now child abuse!!! lol - those teachers are switched on!!

Phil, as a victim of a serious attack myself (some years ago) i can only offer deepest sympathy... time is a great healer and this MUST be treated as an unlucky incident (wrong time / place) from the poor kids involved.
If their Dad wants to speak to me about it, i'm happy to discuss

The scum will get their comeuppance - they always do!!!

Then I'm guilty as charged
Any of my kids swore they got the soap just ask my boys lol
Call me old fashioned but home is where everything begins and school should be an extension of the good values you're trying to instill in your children.

Unfortunately too many wet do-gooders are in positions of;
a)Power
b)Influence

Courts refuse to impose proper sentancing, Police or should I say CPS dont want to know unless it's a guaranteed conviction and then it's probably a poxy caution and some Parents want shooting or have their so-called offspring removed. Todays Youth know their rights better than most Solicitors! If that wasn't bad enough there's always European law on hand to help the ******* even further

Either way until we return to "Old Fashioned Values" both at home and in Society as a whole things will only continue to deteriorate.

Rant over

Phil I hope they make a swift recovery and the mental scars fade quickly

I've threatened the "soap in the mouth" trick. I can't stand "lippy" kids! To this day, whilst I may occasionally sware in front of my folks - I don't think I have ever actually swore AT them, and I hope I never would!

Children lack respect - and the ones that are good kids and do walk the line are the ones who end up involved in outrageous acts of violence like this! I think if one of my kids came home and I found that they'd been involved in inflicting such horrible and cruel injuries, both mental and physical, I'd string 'em up!

As Bibo was saying above - and I was only talking to my mum about this last night!! I'm almost 30 (ish) and when I was a kid, I never used to stay in watching TV, I couldn't wait to get out and play. Skipping ropes, bikes, run outs, bull dog, polo - you name it, we played it and at weekends and holiday times - I went out at 9am and didn't come back till about 8 (unless I was hungry), but in today's sad pathetic PC world - you daren't let your kids play out for fear of some terrible thing happening, kids don't get to play out at school for the schools fear of being sued incase of injury, and when you do let your kids, who are sensible go out for a bike ride - they get attacked!!! WTF!!! This world makes me sick and I think its a scarey world to bring kids up/into!

I hope both kids recover well and there are no ongoing problems! They have my sympathy because I was attacked by some vicious cow when I was 15! Sadly her attack on me had lasting damage after her foot hit me square in the eye - opticians feel I'll lose sight in that eye by the time I'm 40

It seems most people on here have a similar view of society, maybe we should start a political party......vote for the ESC!

As well as sorting out all the scum roaming the streets maybe we can cut some fuel tax too!

Hi all

Firstly, can I just say a BIG thank you for all your kind words above, it really warms the heart when complete strangers show such concern and just proves that there are indeed some good people in this world

My daughter Lauren and her friend Freddie are coping very well, much, much better than I did when I saw them on Sunday evening.

I got the dreaded call at 5.00pm on Sunday from Freddies parents saying that they had been attacked and could i get round there asap.

Fortunately they only live about 2 minutes away (which seemed like forever when we were driving there).

The worst bit is not knowing what you are walking into, as we turned the corner the Police were everywhere and the Ambulance was already there, seeing all that, the alarm bells really start to ring.

The attack took place about 3 doors away from where Freddie lived, his parents thankfully heard them screaming for help but by the time they got to them the attacker was gone and the damage was done.

They were adjusting Lauren's bicycle lights before she came home and he came from behind and hit them both, nothing was stolen, phones, wallets, bikes all left untouched.

The police believe they may have found the weapon, a short metal tube.

I walked into the house and they were covered in blood and it was everywhere which made the whole thing look even worse.

Anyway to cut a long story short Lauren had 2 cuts to her head which were showing her skull and they needed 6 stiches in each and Freddie had 2 not so deep but slighty longer which needed 6 stiches in 1 and 7 in the other. He also suffered and broken thumb from where he had put his hands over his head to protect himself.

Both had a CT scan on sunday night as the doctors were more concerned with the bumps on the heads which had not split.

All results thankfully came back clear.

So its been a week of police visits, Monday they had to go and have pictures taken, Tuesday they went to the 'crisis centre' which is basically a house with proper furnituure in, to make them feel more relaxed, that was to give a video statement and today back to the police station to look at some pictures of possible suspects.

They have seen each other most days which is quite good and we took them to the spot where it happened which was quite gruesom (sp?) but they done it.

Two things which have turned my stomach, firstly as her father the feeling of not being able to do anything at all to make it right (this is more of a selfish thing for me) and secondly having to collect her bike from the police station then proceed to wash the blood in which it was covered from it.

I keep telling myself that it could have been so much worse but it is still hard to deal with.

They have yet to go out alone and also on the bikes which will be a huge step to putting this behind them, hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later as they were very 'going out to play kids' and it would be very sad if that stopped.

They are due to have there stiches out on Monday and poor Freddies thumb will be sore for a few more weeks but hopefully that will close this chapter of their lives.

Once again thank you for the kind words they are greatly recieved and truly mean a lot

Maybe get to meet some of you in future on one of your poser cruises if you can suffer a ford tagging along LOL

cheeRS

I hope Lauren and Freddie make a speedy recovery!

TBH, this sort of thing really scares me, being a father I know how I'd feel in this situation, everything from guilt to pure anger.
My daughter is 8 and she's very timid and shy. At the moment, when she plays with her friends, either myself or my other half takes her and picks her up, or if one of her friends comes over, we do the same for the friend.
Bethany is quickly growing up, and she'll soon be at the age where she'll want her own independance, and I'm really dreading it!! She may have 2 older half brothers (14 and 19) to look out for her, but she can't be watched over all the time.
I may be quiet and it takes a lot for me to seriously lose my rag, but I know that if something like this happened to Bethany, I'd go mental and my anger won't let me stop

We all hear wish Lauren and Freddie a speedy recovery.
I know how angry you must feel, having my own child only bullied by another child outside his school and basically being mugged for his mobile and monies. he was so scared for weeks with continual threats of violence from him and his pikey family so much so that in the end Darren went to their house and threatened the family with reprisals as there was no help from the Police or the schools even though the family is well known for this sort of behaviour.
and Darren said if any more would come of it he would do time to end it finally. that's how agree this made him feel so God knows how you guys must feel with your situation.

I think the answer is smack your kids, bring back corporal punishment in schools let the police clump the kids and the National service for all school leavers..............this all promotes "Respect" this would have to include the last two generation's as well I'm afraid as they have had it to good as well, so can't discipline there own as well as the older generation could. Or perhaps a third world war.

Maria & Darren
