Hi people..can you tell me what oil you use?
I would be interested to see the type of engine oil and grade you Scooby boys use..as theres much debate in the RS world as to which is best.
(Yes it is me..the lifetime banned of the RSOCBB..and yes a Cossie owner..with no grudges against the Subaru.Apart from the lastest bug eyed one..cause it looks to space aged for me being an 80's throw back...LOL.)

Had mine serviced and the fella used Castrol RS 0W 40 and assured me that the Scoobs have been liking it and it seems to be running very well since.
There are a sudden influx of RS boys aren't there!? (DISCLAIMER: that is an observation not a complaint).

Do they do colostomy bags for old cars?
You might get better responses to this in the Techie area? Drivetrain or General Tech?
Dude, is this of any use http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...threadid=65733

Casting my memory back... The official word from Subaru UK was that they fitted Mobil1 5w-40. The problem being you can't get Mobil1 5w-40 in this country as a general rule (you can get 0w-40 or Mobil1 Motorsport 15w-40 I think). The 5w-40 was (is) only available from your local Scooby dealer. If you want, you can get the stuff from any of the French hypermarket places.
The above applied to UK cars still under warranty. Once out of warranty, then the recommendation was to use Mobil1 Motorsport, which you can get from any motoring shop.
Ow-40 oils are not generally recommended because it is considered too thin for the turbo engine (how true this I don't know - I'm not an expert on this, but that was the official line taken by Subaru UK)
At the end of the day, you are running a turbo charged engine which puts considerably more strain on oil than a normal engine. Turbo bearing temperatures can exceed 800C and that needs a serious oil. Whatever you choose, don't skimp and go for the cheap option. I know that a lot of people use Shell Helix which is available in 5w-40 and is generally well regarded.
There, a serious answer for you

These are the threads you need to read m8. Some of the best techies from this bbs have put in some valuable info regarding bearing failure and then oils to use. It will help you decide. Oh, you'll need about an hour, but worth every minute of it.
