Whoops!
Hey fellow Scooby friends!
I have just checked my header tank & it has no water in it!! Does anyone know if that will have caused any damage? My fan kept coming on & I wondered why! Whoops!

Well the system holds around 7litres.
1) Top up and measure how much coolant (not water!) you have to add.
2) If it's a lot, time to start checking for leaks/head gasket failure.
3) If it's not a lot, keep an eye on it.
4) If you have had the coolant drained either at a service or radiator change, there could still be air pockets in the system, causing the level to appear to be dropping, when infact, it is just settling down.
Hope this helps.
P.S.
I don't think 'chipping' your scooby will give you 340bhp!

Depends how long you were driving like that i.e with the fan coming on all the time as the car would have been overheating badly.
Usually causes the head gasket to die but I don't know scooby engines that well so best to post the question in the Technical forum.
A test you can do is to fill up the coolant/anti-freeze (remember it's bitterly cold outside), if your not sure about this just go to your local garage and ask someone to do it for you as they are used to customers asking for this kind of thing.
Drive the car around for a few days, on and off boost etc and then check the temp gauge on your dashboard, should always be on half-way or a bit less if your car is running smooth. If it's got problems you will find the fan is coming on all the time and the water is running low or running out (not good) - could be loads of things then.
Leaking water, head gasket gone, other issue that is overheating the engine.

If so, the dealer option map was called PPP (Prodrive Performance Pack) and would raise the power to around 260bhp.
For 340bhp, would need a new turbo, injectors, intercooler etc etc.
The owner says she has a certificate to prove it (im asuming that this is a RR printout) So why doubt her??

could very well be the end tanks on the rad leaking, common prob on classic shapes. they tend to split but only leak when hot and under pressure.
worth checking if thats where ur water is going. before i knew where my water was going my header tank went dry a few times, filled it back up with not to much water and was fine and still is now, with proper antifreeze/coolant now
