Default Wrapped Headers....Stink !!

how long does it take before the newly Wrapped Stainless Steel exhaust headers will stop giving off smoke and stinking to high hell

i soaked the wrap before using it, then i sprayed it as advised to help protect the wrap from getting wet and manky, but now it's smelling while new

have you refitted the undertray?

if not they will still smell slightly when wet.

I like the smell of the DEI Wrap on mine! Mine wasn't sprayed with anything and if you have been out in the rain you can still smell it a little

Don't soak the wrap. Apply it damp.
I don't use any paint spray now as it makes the wrap go brittle, prematurely.
Until the car has been driven really hard for a bit, it will continue to smell but then over a few hundred miles the smell goes away.
In moist damp conditions at an early stage, expect plenty steam and people in traffic trying to tell you there is a fire. This is good for a laugh in certain circumstances at traffic lights etc. Watch out for some eager guy with a fire extinguisher.
