Mudflaps - please help
Rebecca,
They fit a P1 with 17's, so I shouldn't think there's a problem.
I've had mine a couple of week or so, and there has been a marked reduction in ominous clangs, from debris on the doors, and a hell of a lot less crap down the side of the car.

Big Den,
yes I most certainly do own a CAT and yes it certainly does have 17" gold wheels. Didn't like them at first, but they're growing on me

Mattski,
there was a bit of confusion over what they are actually called and no I don't mean mudflaps because I know they're some kind of sill extension or whatever. What I meant were what I think are called stoneguard protectors (hence the confusion for dealers looking in their brochures)... which are supposed to be made of black rubber and I seem to recall are about £8.50.
Thanks guys and especially Mike Wood.
Success at last ... armed with the part number my local Subaru dealer finally managed to find them

So may be not so confused after all

Did I read on a thread a couple of weeks back that you own a CAT? If yes, have you fitted 17" Gold wheels to it?
On the subject of mudflaps (stone guards) I was hoping to see these ones the guys were talking about a few days back before deciding whether to opt for them or to make my own from the pattern supplied (also a few days back) out of red mudflap material. Incidentally, I also own/drive a CAT.

Can anyone put up a photo of these things?
The only Subaru mud flaps that I've seen are SACC1417 (front) and SACC1418 (rear), which are like normal mudflaps, but moulded to fit round the sills. Expensive though - nearly £100!

Just spoke to Jim Childs of Cheam Motors. He doesn't have any in stock at the moment, but will in the New Year.
He is going to post here, with an email address, so you can send him a mail. That way he can order a set for everyone, and some for stock.
He did mention that, they were really only designed for the 18" P1 rims. He said that he would recommend the normal moulded sets, which are about £42 a set, as they follow the lines of the car more.
Cheers

Failing a photo of these stoneguard thingies, can someone describe what they're like and how you fit them?
I'm getting a bit fed up of mud (and, potentially, stones) being flung up the side of the car, so I've decided to get something fitted. Apart from the proper mudflaps (£42.51 + VAT for the front set, and the same for the rear), the only other thing in the brochure that I've got is "spats", which look as if they slide over the sills themselves. I haven't seen any in the flesh, but wouldn't have thought that they would be as effective as the mudflaps. Any comments from those that have had them fitted?

Hi guys,
With ref to the mudflaps....P1 SACC2145.
I am placing an order for a number of sets for delivery in the new year. Please e-mail me direct with your order if you are interested. They are £8.50 + vat each.
Remember if there is any other subaru accessory you are interested in check out our re-vamped web site

TonyBurns,
Nice to see you're paying attention ...

Actually gold wheels came standard on the Cat ... but I reckon that gold 17 inchers are going to be better than gold 15 inchers ... but do quite like the idea of anthracite as well ....
Yes, we do have tarmac down south ... but I have to do a lot of one lane countryside driving ... and managed to stonechip the side and windscreen within a couple of weeks (and no, nothing to do with my driving before you say anything
)

I know about stone chips
got a big one on the windscreen only after 2k miles.... damn trucks!!!!!!!!
Ill see if i can get you a pic of these PD7's on my car, they do look rather tasty if you ask me
Anthracite is a lovely colour but like gold only suits certain car colours, for instance, gold alloys on a silver car look silly, same really with anthracite but cromed ones really look great with silver!!
Will post a pic asap when i get my grubby mitts on a digital camera
!7's also make one hell of a difference too, look better and the car now handles fantastic
im still having fun down those B roads
