When i get my Subaru im thinking of putting graphics and stickers all over my car. Does anyone know what the law is on stickers on cars?

Can anyone also tell me what are the main differance from a UK Sport and UK Turbo?

You cannot (Legally) display a number on the side, but as long as they don't obstruct your vision through the front windows, i see no problem!

Yep, I think this is the BEST anti-theft measurement you can take. Don't think you'll peel 'm off easy. On my last car it was a two-day job with the hairdryer...

Another thing to note is the material used on the graphics.

Flat vinyl should be OK in any colour but if you plan to use reflective vinyl like 3M stuff, the lighting regulations come into effect. I.e. covering the side of the car in a checkerboard of reflective blue vinyl is a no-no.

Cheers

Oh dear me Mr B I fear you may wish to distance yourself from a number of your travelling companions. Perhaps a couple of miles behind?

Oh silly me. You've no need to worry thats the usual format on the Northern Runs

Ummmmm.....nope...you can't buy a sticker set off the shelf...I am just getting my new STI Type UK Prodrive stickerd for when we take it down to the Catalunya Rally in March...a client of mine owns a graphics company, a few of his contracts involve working with a few of the rally, TOCA and Le Mans teams...thats all..

Banshi....can't of been me M8...never been on a Northern run with you....from what I hear you guys are always late anyway....wasn't it something to do with someones other half still being in the shower (reason for being late to Harewood Hill Climb)....or was that young Mr Yellows better half

Sports have a little sticker on them that says "Sport", Turbo's have one that says "Turbo"

Both have a two litre engine, but obviously the turbo has erm, well, a turbo. I think the turbo had a higher spoiler than the sport too. In terms of interior equipment I've a feeling that the turbo had a slightly higher spec but don't know for certain. The Sport has a hill holder (clutch down, press brake right down, car is held until you move the clutch, so it doesn't roll back on a hill), which the turbo does not.

Rum,
I was refering to the Net Names. Accept my apologies for the confusion. I should have realised a gentleman of your standing would note the use of Mr and automatically assume he was the person referred to

Whilst I am battling with dementia, it's onset has not been so rapid that I would not recognise your presence and exemplary driving skill at a meet. I believe the driver in question to be in possession of a MY99 DBM (Dirty Blue Motor)

I would add that the management takes no responsibility for the conduct of it's house guests. However the punctuality of Mr M, Mr B and S. Slider improves imeasureably if they do not have the opportunity to shower with Little Miss Moderator

There are a few laws covering "livery/stickers, e.g. you can't have any colour other than red in reflective material at the rear of the vehicle. Or you can't use red reflective at the front of the vehicle Etc.

Differences between Sport and Turbo....

Depending on the year the only major differences are that the sport doesn't have...
Turbo
Rear Discs
Twin Tailpipes
momo steering wheel
"Turbo Seats"
"turbo" style wheels

there was a "Sport Special" which added different wheels, decent seats, and the high level spoiler.

Hope this helps..

Sorry Rum
Sold the exclusive rights to News of the World.

Though, as I wouldn't wish anything to be misconstrued, I do feel there is a requirement for clarification. I didn't mean to imply that more than one individual was involved.

The facilities currently available do not provide for multiple use

My RA was never stopped by plod, despite reflective stickers front, back and sides.

BT's vans had/have reflective stickers all round, as do many supermarket and couriers. Are we sure there is a law about stickers?

I believe that as stated above you are not allowed to have a number on the side/front/roof....but I stand to be corrected on this one (as you can see from below....that bit didn't really bother me ).

Also as stated above...your visability should not be impared...stickers should not infringe on the wipers sweep...should not cover lights...

Other than that I see no problems with them...afterall...many companies put stickers on cars, small vans, trucks etc....
