I happened upon this thread on TSC.

Not sure how truthful it is.

TBH, I've never considered Scoobs as 'lookers'. Behind the wheel it doesn't matter a bit what they look like, it's the thrill through the seat of your pants that excites. If this new one continues and adds to that, then I can't fault it. They've always been ugly Jap saloons with gold and pink chav accesories to exagerate their performance appearance, so now they're ugly Jap hatchbacks ! Let's hope the gold and pink fall by the wayside. The Evo X however may be throwing down a mighty gauntlet, but Subaru have said they are trying to move away from that market with this new car. Will it go toe-to-toe with the Mitsi, or will it be in the Focus, Golf, Civic, Seat league from now on

Body shape is not that bad now with flared arches and shorter overhangs on STI. Its the lights front and rear that are so ugly. Lexus rears, Seat fronts and silly foglights.

What if that 'turd' ends up accellerating faster, cornering better and being overall a significantly better machine than any previous Impreza ? What if the new STi eclipses the Spec C 'Ring record, takes the fight to the EvoX and sets new standards in handling and driving dynamics ? Apart from looks, would you buy it ?
