I don't like the front/side view at all, but the other two pictures look good.

 

I wouldnt chop my spec c in for one but id have one if it was given to me i certainly wouldnt buy one out of my own hard earned

 

 

The interior looks like a vast improvement. The exterior styling is slightly better once you get used to it... but it is still a hatchback and I don't think I would want one on that basis.

There really is no consistent theme/style in the design - its like they've cut and pasted parts from all the cars out at the moment.

 

Yes definitely considering it - my car will be three years old in the spring so time for a change.Thought the Evo X would be the better bet but I am not impressed with the way it looks having seen the pictures but will need to see both of them in the flesh.
Also putting me off the Evo is that it will be a lot more expensive to buy,run and the servicing is a pain with twice a year 220 mile round trips to the nearest dealer.

You've hit the nail on the head. Subaru tend to do this, they just follow current trends and tend to try a bit too hard at times.

If they ever get the styling right, in their own style that is, it will be the perfect car as mechanically they are sound.

When i had my Leon Cupra R they bought out a new Leon and i have to say i didn't like it... but others did.. another Split decision.

I like the touring car version of the Leon but had Fat Wings and Big/lowbumpers, Spoiler but your never be able to buy one like that..

it's the same for the new STI.. so it's a no from me..

plus i love my Scoobie.. and sound of it... Will the new one have that Scoobie sound??!?!?

Nope, much prefer the classics.

 

I think it looks good, a much better effort then the EVO X which just looks wrong from all angles. However I prefer the looks of my MY05 STI PPP and won't be chopping it in anytime soon.

Sold my scoob in preperation for the hatch so as soon as we get some pricing and availability options i will be ordering.

Completely understand the logic about buying a 6 month old car and avoiding depreciation but there is nothing like having an untouched new car

The car is growing on my rapidly I have to say. There are things about it I dont like, but the same can be said about the hawk I have now.

 

That's true .... I bought my Impreza in May 2000 at a price of around £22,000 - 7 1/2 years later it's lost a huge amount of money.

5 Years ago I bought a secondhand Mazda MX5 - it hasn't lost a penny.

A harsh lesson for me, as the Impreza was my first new car - a 6 month old car makes amazing economic sense.

 

How second hand was the MX though?
Some cars reach a point and just sit there, loads of examples of them out there.

You will always lose money on a new new car, unless its a top marque.
Hopefully they wont lose money at the same rate that rep cars do, so 40-50% over 3 years.... I reckon I can live with that lol

The silver one looks good IMO. Not sure it would tempt me out of my S3, the practicality of 5 doors and an extra 35bhp doesn't outweigh the residuals, build quality and running costs of the Audi.

 

Very tempted just a little concerned that they are already working on a front end re-style and it smacks of the Bug eye problem again. Don't want to get caught with something six months old and already out of date.

At £28 ish still think it is good value against what the Germmans can serv up for that money, looks good in met black with anthracite prodrive wheels

 

Interesting point ref the cars that reach a point and sit there ..... interesting, because the Scooby Impreza Turbo Classic is one such car - whats the bottom price of a running Impreza Turbo? £2500? The parts are worth that alone, I would guess?

My car is a 1 Owner UK car - not sure how many Import Classics can boast one owner? so very hard to compare. It's also even more rare by the fact that it has never been played with.
