im looking to get a new flywheel, but am unsure of what weight to go for, and seen some nice ones at 4.3kg, some people have said that they are to light and could cause driving problems, some said that they are fine.


soooooo what power are you running and flywheel weight.

4.3KG is way to light, I suffered from big idle issues. I went back to an APi 7.2Kg lightened and balanced OEM version and it was fine.

I didnt really notice any difference in pick up of the engine to be honest.

 

Yep same here, API flywheel and Exedy uprated clutch running 310 brake. Can't say I felt any difference but I'm sure there must be

I run a proper lightweight one in mine and get on with it very well

 

OEM one is 11.5 / 12kg and there are basically two options, ligtened OEM one at 7-8Kg (i have this, works very nicely) or an aftermarket one 4-5Kg.
People have had differing experiences with the really light ones but it mostly seems to be down to the resolution of your left leg

 

i had my flywheel skimmed by wilkinsons dynamic balancing in halesowen used the about 6 times now and they took my flywheel down to just under 8kg which is still safe and balanced it up to all in for £80 well worth giving them a try on 01215013705

 

I have the 5.75Kg Exedy going in next week and have beeen told by Len that they run absolutely fine.

I was originally getting it and another exedy clutch through BOB'5 at a really great price but he couldn't get it to me in time so I bit the bullet and bought through Len since he was fitting it. He only gave me an approx price which I can't remember now but it wasn't much more from retail and he doesn't overcharge on parts. If you have the time, source through Bob'5 group buy IMO

Good for you, I am gutted I couldn't get one in time as with that and my turbo deal falling through (gutted yet relieved that I bought a brand new Andy F 20G after all), I had to go to Len with a fixed budget far lower than I was hoping for all the work I want done. Being as class they are, Subaru4you willhopefully be kind to me /shameless plug due to them being lovely and fluffy and friendly and wonderful
