i have just got a m plate wrx wagon and she is not boosting properly
the car is totally standard but i have put in a boost gauge
she was running fine untill today and now it struggles to get any were near half a bar of boost i cant see any hoses off or hear any boost leaks and the engine light has not come on

Try cleaning your boost solenoid and connecting pipes with brake cleaner, might have a build up of gunge in there. Have you recently changed or topped up your oil?

So is the problem in direct relation to fitting the boost gauge or has it happened subsequently? Where did you plumb in said guage?

Check for blockages and splits in the pipes too.

hi
cheers for the replies
the gauge is teed in to the pipe for the dump valve and it has been on for a week or so before it lost its boost so i don't think it's related to that
the oil was changed before i got the car so i haven't touched that
is the boost solenoid the bit bolted to the o/s strut housing ?

i went out in the car last night and it was working a bit better had about .5 to .6 bar but still not right

what is standard boost on this model ?

cheers Gav

did you allready cleaned the solenoid?
because sounds like you only have wastegate pressure
so could be solenoid which is sticking
