Are they cast or forged????

supposed to be forged,wrx were cast but dunno if that was an urban legend

Yeah I heard they were supposed to be forged but someone told me they aren't. I'm looking to turn the boost up/remap from 1.23 to 1.4ish but don't want to risk a melt down.

A WRX RA will have cast pistons only the STi's came with the forged pistons.

Best off checking with your mapper but i would not want to go beyond 1.4bar

Andy F didn't seem to have a problem running my oe '93 WRX pistons at 1.5 bar peak, dropping to 1.4 bar.... The car hasn't complained about it yet either after 4k miles.

That includes 4 rolling road runs where it managed to top 1.55 bar at one point.
