Is this another urban myth?

SCOOBY PRO ECU UPGRADE for Subaru Impreza...upto 280BHP - eBay, Engine Tuning Parts, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 16-Sep-07 20:01:33 BST)

would something similer work on my P-reg MY97?


Some that looks to good to be ture often is!!!!!

i would avoid ebay specials imo unfortunately having a my97 you need to replace the ecu with a remappable one.

Nothing wrong with Ebay ECU upgrades......can only speak for my own though .....

not refering to yours
but will this one work with a 97 car as yours aren't compatible yet?

Nope....but 96/97 is the cross-over year.
There are 1996 registered in 1997 on P plates.

LOL...due to the likes of the above I've just had an item not sell

So I would need an aftermarket ecu then that was made for a MY96/97 then? mines got the face lift if that helps!! how can I tell if mine is a pre96 or after 97? (ecu)

Log book helps

Or look at the engine, I'm pretty sure 97/98 cars should have the center mounted coil:

Sept 96 (according to Subaru Impreza FAQ) is when the facelift model came in and also has the VIN numbers that may help

only option is after market ecu for that year..

iirc Power Engineering used to do a daughter board for them years ago but no longer do.
