hi could anyone tell me if my94 wrxsti needs a cat i dont even know what one looks like on a scooby any help would be great cheers

 

Cat is in the downpipe and looks like a bulge in the pipe pre July 95 cars have an easy emissions test

well mine has one then coz iv got that bulgee downpipe so are you saying i can decat and still pass an mot ?

is there much gain in power rest of my exhaust is 3inch stainlees with a 5inch exit ?

 

Should be, i can't give a power quote really (10+bhp perhaps) but the turbo spools up quicker and most decats are about £100 and plenty to chose from (i went for an HKS one).
Possibly, more importantly, the flat four noise is louder

A full decat system will give you an instant 20-30 brake, you will notice it :-)

 

ill av to try and look wots wot its so bloody hard to see anything under a scooby see wot flange iv got etc dont even know what make my exhaust is got cat downpipe decat on ebay for about a ton they ask wot model u got etc but im sure my exhaust aint standard will work on that this week see wot i cant find out cheers boys
