Default 99 Turbo Gearbox trouble

Can anybody help.

I've got gearbox trouble on my 1999 Turbo.
Keeps dropping out of 5th + after using reverse can't get it into another gear.
I live in Stafford. Do you know of anywhere in the staffordshire/W. Midlands area who could do a good job on it at a decent price.

Cheers,
Ian.

Ian, That might just be the 'big nut ' coming undone at the back of the box. It is a well known problem and depending upon how long it has been loose, affects whether just tightening it will be a fix.

On the late type box [ yours ] the back of the box can be got off in situ and it can be checked, tightened and repaired. However if there is damage, then 5th gear parts will be needed, either gear alone or maybe gear and synchro slider.

It may be able to be fixed for about a hundred quid, if just tightening works. Or if other parts are needed it could rise to as far as 4 - 500.

We could do it for you, probably while you wait - maybe even on a Saturday morning sometime, to save taking a day off work.

We are by junction 12 of the M40, call me on the number in my title to the left if you wish

Good luck, no matter what. David APi
