not sure if thats quite right, because its also german for "group" and i wonder if it relates to group A / S / N etc in rallying???
there obviously must be a difference between the "gruppe" N & S is it in the performance? or just the style?
Gruppe-S is a make, Group N is a category for Rallying.
doh...i know that...
i was saying "prehaps" it has something to do with the spec...as in group n etc,
as gruppe is german for group...(gruppe n ---group n )
if "gruppe" is a make...then what is the S & N for...
and i asked does it have any relivance to rallying? as there made for semi rally cars...not so daft a question.
Ok, as this has been answered. Whats Gruppe N? I've aslo heard that mentioned.
There is a company called Gruppe M. They are more Porsche specialist. I think they are a Hong Kong/British company?? I could be wrong?
I know they had factory backing in the FIA GT from Porsche but they vanished after the backing ended when Porsche wanted to do factory racing in the ALMS.
Group S was a proposed replacement for Group B back in the early 80's with manufacturers only having to make 20 (instead of 200) cars, of course the death of Group B put paid to that, as FISA didn't want to replace one extreme car with another more extreme!
Unless its a blag from that I just think its a nice imaginative name!
