My local BP garage`s sul pumps have `98 ron`stickers on both pumps,is it just that they havent been replaced or do BP still sell it? My kid brother reckons he can feel a power difference when using it in his TYPE R V3.Is he just imagining it?

BP pumps still display 98 ron but it has been replaced by 97, although it should say this somewhere.

Thumbs down

Afraid not Wayne - as far as I know 98 RON is not available from the pumps anymore. It's just the labels that haven't been changed.

Think you'll find it depends on if its a BP owned or a franchise. Still 97 though no matter what it says.

98 marked pumps are marked wrong.
98 Super Unleaded has not been delivered to stations for the last 12 months - so if there is any 98 in there then its old & hasn't been sold yet (cant believe that)
Trading Standards visited my local branch of BP & made them change their 98 stickers to 97 - after a complaint - according to "Gary"

Not again!

Whatever is displayed on the pump...ALL SUL is now 97 RON, there is no 98.

Loads of BP garages still have the 98 logo on, but it ain't 98 juice...don't bother asking the people in the garage...their answer will be..."but mi names gary...."

(RON...get it!)

Doesn't matter what my local BP station has on the pumps as they haven't had SUL for months now!
Anyhow, I'm paying 85.9 for ESSO and filling up three times a week ... cool

I get my SUL from a BP pump with the correct 97 RON sticker on it. 89.9 ppl though. Thats the cheapest I can get around here.

You'd think it wouldn't be that difficult to stick the correct rating on a pump. But why does this keep reoccurring just with BP? A few weeks ago Leicester Forest East Services:

This in unforgivable, next time your in ask for the manager, and if he still says the fuel is 98 get him to put it in writing, that'll get him in the $hit. Then call trading standards, if he's said its 98 after being asked he won't be able to wriggle out of it.

What we need is a prosocution to stop this.

Hmm - I heard something recently (might be total bollox) saying that MP were selling 97 as Super Unleaded, with 98 being Super Plus Unleaded. Of course, that may just be the stickers...

When the 97RON Super became available, the garages were given a "grace" period for changing their stickers. I cannot remember the length of the period, but it was months rather than weeks.
