Snooper Sapphire
Anyone got one? Any good? I was going to get Road Angel Plus but the price put me off, then a few reviews I read were not great.
I have sourced a Snooper Sapphire for £110 delivered (not advertised anywhere at this price - via email direct from a seller) which is pretty good for this item.
I want a battery powered one and I think this or the RA Plus are the only real options. I was entertaining a SatNav version but now CBA so just going for GPS database.
Any thoughts welcome.

Check out the Talex reviews, very good for the money and has GPS possible mobile camera locations too (I'm not sure that snooper etc have this, only laser/rader which are useless)

The snooper website claims mobile locations are on there (which is one of the main things I want). Not interested in the laser detectors - as you say - useless. I did read about RA Nav 9000 having a sim card in it so it updates every 2mins automagically with mobile sites and when they are live...how good is that???? If you see a mobile site in use, press a button and everyone lese with one gets to know it is live - quality. Bit steep at 500 notes plus 6/month subs, but the future sure is bright!

My Girlfriend got one about 9 months ago - The first one lasted about a week and then the screen went dead after the fuse blowing numerous times
Took it back got a replacement and that one lasted about 2 weeks until it decided that it wouldn't turn on at all
So we gave up and got a Tom Tom and subscribed for their camera alerts instead

got one ...
not bad .. easy to update .. can get a bit annoying with voice alerts screaming at you .. but other than can't fault it .. it does the job it's designed to do ... not failed to pick a camera up yet

Got one. I have no experience with any others in the past so can only base it on this one experience, but I have to say it ticks all the boxes! There are lots of settings to tailor it to your needs (if you don't like voice alerts - turn them off or set the volume very low). Simple to get up and running and looks very smart - I position it next to the driver's side A-pillar so it hovers just above dashboard level - had no issues with satellite reception in this position.
My run home from work takes me past 2 gatsos, facing opposite directions, and it only picked up the one is was heading to, I also pass a mobile site which came up as High Risk zone and this morning it informed me of the SPECS on M4 J10-11 (not that you need help to notice them). I have not tested the User Location (set your own hot spots with a 2second press of the Mem button) yet, but hopefully that will work as it says.
Bad news is that the Mrs bought me one as a suprise and I won one on eBay so I have a spare one still in the cellophane. Rather than paying return postage on it I can offer it to someone on here. I can post or you can collect from Reading/Wokingham - £95 + £5 P&P. PM me if interested.

Alex - do you mean you can't add it in OR that it adds then when you go past it says 'Warning 20mph'?
To store one, press and hold Mem button for 2secs (while parked up at the location).
To edit it for speed, camera type, etc, go into Menu - User Point - Edit. This is on Page17 of the User manual (on the CD).

Hi, I mean the bit where is says 'Warning 20mph'. I want to try and find out how you can change the speed from 20mph upwards.?
Thanks,
Alex
Alex, that's what I meant by go to Menu-User Point-Edit, then you select your manually added entry and change the speed limit to what you want.
PS to all - My 'spare' one has been sold to a collegue.
