Thumbs up Polar Performance Re map

Just had my WRX Wagon fitted with new re mappable polarperformance ECU and mapped by Scott T, he sorted all the problems I had with the car and re mapped it. The Car is totally transformed it now pulls so hard all the way to the redline and the torque is awesome!! Just driven the 300 mile trip back from Scott's and haven't stopped smiling yet! Polarperformance is the way to go if your looking at re mappable ECU for your Subaru! Absolute awesome Job, would definately recommend Scott to re mapp your pride and joy!
Top Job one very very very happy customer!!

Cheers Steve, thanks for the comments.....
We got there in the end eh mate !!!!.

Whoever had your car before you had clearly been bodging the boost control... I learnt a few things from these sessions. One of them being to check that all the boost control pipes are in the correct positions and the actuator isn't tightened to the max.....before even connecting the lappy.....LOL !!!!

Cool, I bet that pulls well from low revs. I'm beginnning to think that the TD04 is a better choice for normal everyday use, especially with a map.

Scott, am I right in thinking your based near guildford? I'm going to take my car their in the next couple of months to have a boost leak fixed and could really do with a proper remap as ive got a FMIC with 440 injectors fitted. What would I need for you to be able to map over 1.1 bar of boost with this set up?(currently using a dawes device)

Not near Guilford, about 1.5hours away (ish).
I'm down on the south coast 36miles east of Brighton

3bar map sensor off a post96 car would see you able to run about 1.3bar on the 440's and FMIC.

I'm not sure if there has been an issue with nomenclature but this thread could cause some confusion.

There is no such thing as a "re mappable polarperformance ECU", the hardware (daughterboard), software (embedded and application) and comms are all ESL Live.

Scott is an installer, mapper and distributor, and comes recommended hence the post, but he does not produce his own hardware.

I hope you already know this Steve, but from your original post it isn't clear.

Hope this removes any ambiguity,

Cheers,

Andy

Just to clarrify what Andy has mentioned above (and also a free BTT ).
The ECU is now fitted with an ESL Live mappable adaptor board as listed as Option 3 on my website PolarPerformance

The board is the brainchild of ESL and allows the standrd ECU to be live mapped on the road or rollers, and retains all the standard ECU functionality i.e closed loop knock control, 3D boost control, ECU diagnostics and safety features etc... full spec is linked to on my products page.

It is not my ECU product, as Andy states he supplies me with the Hardware and Software Interface. I fit and map 'LIVE'......

Much like me sourcing and fitting an Apexi (but with added features

This is for MY93-96, but MY97/98 is coming.......Andy may be able to state when !!

Oh Gawd Scott I'm a bit busy as it is

Expect 97/8 toward the end of the year I'm afraid, hard to see it arriving any sooner than that in all honesty, me and Spencers calendar quite full.

Speak soon chap.

Its a smashing bit of kit. Its the thing that keeps my poor old 93WRX ahead of those 480bhp GT3s in the AEMC Sprint Champs and JISC

HI Andy

Sorry for not being clear with the wording over the package i had!! I'm not really up on the technical side and bit new to subaru's (and cars!!)

Just like to say the product you've developed is incredible my car is totally transformed!! Scare's my wife to death now!!! ha ha!
Hope i haven't offended you, and will be recommending both your product and scott to my impreza mates !!

Sorry for late reply been working away, only back at weekends!!
The way the car pulls from low down is simply awesome!
4th & 5th gear acceleration is mind blowing! on a favourite piece of road near my home the wagon used to hit 80mph on a certain short stretch, then you needed to brake hard, now just over a ton had to go back twice to do it again!! going to have to up grade brakes now!! it is slightly faster than my mates 06 STI new age! like you said in the real world TD04 is a better choice.would highly recommend the ESL boards and Scott to do your mapping.

Hi Steve

No offence at all, I was just clarifying, glad you are happy with the board and Scotts mapping (I'd happily let him map my racecar, thats my qualification for a distributor!).

You might want to try a live mapped TD05 car sometime, it is laggier but when it comes in........

However, if flexibility is key, then the TD04 is a good choice if the most is made of it.

Enjoy!

Andy.

Hi Will

Im being lazy and copied this off 22b:

HKS Green, no resonator, 1.35bar midrange, 1.15bar at the red paint, AFR 11:1, standard 93wrx internals, ported heads and manifold, 440s, td05-16g 90deg entry, autobahn88 FMIC, 28 deg adv at the top on V-power, will take over 30 with 2RON of NF. IAM always at 16, no correction the fine ignition control map. 327bhp at PTS without additives (rollers now defunct). Could whack the boost up a little but getting away from the efficiency island on the compressor map at higher airflows.

I know some running over 1.5bar midrange on standard internals but they are braver than me! Have tried it briefly and is very tempting but fear my ebay gearbox would cry enough.

The scoob is lighter than the GT3s and sticks pretty well on KW V3s.
