Play in steering column

Play in steering column
I can move the steering wheel towards me and then away from me, there is about 10mm of movement, the nut holding the steering wheel on is tight and the steering shaft where it comes through the front bulkhead and attaches to the u/j joint does not move. Any ideas on what this problem is and can it be fixed? The model is a 1994 wrx ra
