Default WHAT HAS IT DONE?

My dads mate runs a small quad track for kids and in the last week or so he has noticed that the bikes are not running right and are becoming very hard to start which in unusual as they usually start first time. He also noticed that the ignition barrels have been damaged so he waited at the track late a few nights to see if some one was messing with them and sure enough a group of kids came to the track and started mucking about with the bikes when he went over to confront the kids they ran off but had left something behind it was a bottle of fairy liquid which they had been putting in the tanks of the bikes. The day after he striped the worst bike down, tank off and cleaned, carb off and striped and cleaned new fuel filter and so on but it has made no difference the bike still wont run properly and is still a pig to start.
Has any one any idea what damage has been done from putting fairy liquid in the fuel?

Your going to have to get those bikes into some enclosed secure storage. Your lucky to still have the bikes, around here they would have been off with them.

I have no idea on the damage they may have done though

Little w4nkers!

According to google, liquid soap emulsifies petrol (making napalm) so the fuel pump may be damaged. Is fuel gettig to the carb float OK?

The carb is gravity fed so it doesn’t have a pump but fuel seems to be getting through ok
For the life of me I carnt see what’s wrong with them

Blocked air filter or maybe they have plugged the exhausts with something on previous visits?

Go through the basics...

Suck..... is the fuel / air getting to the engine?? strip the carbs and clean with carb cleaner. blow through all jets / orifices. ..

Squeeze.... has the bike got compression? check that the compression pressure is where it should be is the valve timing & clearances correct?

Bang.... change the spark plugs, check the timing (where applicable) check earths...

Blow... is the exhaust blocked, coked up? they may need a good thrash to blow the system through...

It might be worth running some heavy hits of redex through the system once running to clear all the crap out (not sure if you can do it on 2 strokes though)
