Thumbs down Urgrnt help needed, flywheel problem.

Just got back off holiday and while I was there I had my car booked in at a local garage to have my Exedy Hyper D core twin disc carbon clutch and flywheel fitted. They have just called to say there is a problem with the starter and they cant get it to work or something. It was a receptionist that called so she didnt know any details, but is there any mods needed to that kind of area to get it to work??? The car is a MY99 UK turbo 2000. Is it possible the flywheel is wrong or does it just sound like the garage has done something wrong??? Help please, need the car for work on monday. Know I should have taken it to a specialist, but didnt think a normal garage would have problems with such a job. Cheers, Shane.

They rang me back and said they were going to try and modify it, but she couldnt tell me what the problem was. Are there bigger flywheels for certain models or are they all the same size??

Speak to the mechanic working on the car, not the receptionist.

They got back to me and said they've modded the starter to fit. When I got up there they said they couldn't get it back on as the end was hitting the flywheel?? So they ground a little off the end and it went straight on. Sounds dodgy to me as if its hitting the flywheel then the starters not gonna be in the right place surley and grinding a little off wont make it work, it will go on but then it will hit the flywheel when firing the solenoid??? Works fine though so I'll just keep an eye on things. Are twin plate clutches supposed to sound rough when not engaged?? I knew they were supposed to be noisy, but mine sounds like theres something not right with the car.

They scrape and rattle like buggery normally
Should shut up when you take your foot off the clutch though.
