Can anybody tell me what the small red light is on the back bumper of some jap spec imperzas is it a brake light or something

 

I think its a fog light. I`m sure someone will clarify for you shortly

Its supposed to a foglight!! I had one on my WRX but I fooked it off and fitted a proper one..

 

imported jap car, rear fog light is part of the sva requirements...

 

I see thanks lads why did you take it off, i am thinking of puting one on my STI i think it gives it that real jap look you no what i mean, could someone put up a picture of 1 please.

 

Jap cars dont have them mate...

as mentioned earlier.... they there cause without one they cant pass the sva test...

 

They are put on when imported to the UK, not used in Japan.

 

You need one in the UK like others have said for the initial SVA and the yearly MOT.

If its hanging under the bumper you could get it set into the bumper like i did which I think makes It look a lot better.

 

(REAL JAP LOOK) I just tought they jap because i only see them on jap cars but you learn something new every day i still like them tho
