My car is decat. I'm guessing that it will struggle to pass the MOT as is

if it's got a proper prodrive PPP exhaust then yep it'll pass. it's got a sports cat in the downpipe, the decat bit is the next pipe after. not a clue how to check this when it's on the car though!

Not sure what exhaust you've got but we don't sell a full stainless exhaust with decat. If you've got a PPP exhaust either with our downpipe or the std downpipe, it'll fly through an emissions test.

all the guy said that i bought it off is its had a full stainless prodrive exhaust with decat ...if i look down the back of the engine i can see what looks like a box on the exhaust very square... immediately after the turbo . and just following that there is a heat shield round the exhaust ,is this a cat ? there is a sensor screwed into the box.... ??

if it looks like this then you've got a prodrive sports cat downpipe and like mike said, if you've got either that or std it'll pass.

depending on age your downpipe (if prodrive) may have a sort of blanket where the ribbed section of the pipe is. this is a heat blanket and on later ones it was internal.

this is a std downpipe,

this is the std 2nd pipe (this is decatted on the PPP exhaust)

if it doesn't look like either of the pics no idea what you've got. sorry.

saying all this though mate, have you got a classic or newage? your comment about the sensor has got me thinking, the newage looks like the only sensor is in the 2nd pipe whereas IIRC the classic has a sensor in the downpipe.

ah, sorry mate. been leading you on a wild goose chase there, the newage (mine in the pics) and your classic are different exhausts. your exhaust has 3 parts (downpipe, centre section then backbox) mine has 4.

your downpipe does look like a catted one though, like you say it's like my legmaybe the rest is a prodrive system? good news is it should get an MOT pass

ok been out again lol its almost identicle to youre first pic but it says subaru on the side that faces the engine not the same side as yours ? doubt that matters then it goes straight out through a straight stainless pipe so i seem to have the first bit but not the second
