All you'll gain is a rusty battery tray

it would help suck out the hot engine air but it would let the rain in ,so there is the possibliity of the induction sucking water in .....this = bad things lol ,we repaired a tractor once that a farmer had washed with his hosepipe and the induction had sucked air in and the piston had hydrauliced..wasnt good granted its a lot more water but is it worth the risk ? i might leave mine blanked lol

To be honest your engine draws in thousands of gallons of air a minute at speed so only a tiny fraction fo that would pass through the vent into your "induction kit" personally I think engine bay moutned induction kits are a waste of money..

i assumed it would cool it .helps stop the hot soak .... also a cold air feed straight to the air filter works awesome i did this on my vec and it increased the performance dramaticaly

Something of a deviation here, but lateral thinking.....bear with me.....

if the vents were turned through 180 degrees and inserted further up the bonnet, say each side of the air scoop, then would they allow more hot air to escape ? Thinking along the lines of air being pushed through the engine bay with forward movement.

Reason for the thought is that I have a Forester and am toying with doing this but wondering if it will really be of any benefit in cooling the engine bay ?

Cheers
