Never had any problems in my old car, it was de-catted too.

I let the car cool down whilst driving home. Most people live in residential areas so you shouldn't be booting it around anyway.

Unless your running it to within an inch of its life till just before you pull into your drive, there should be no need to let it idle and cool down

Or, just connected a pipe from your exhaust to their letter box and get some flames going.

If i've been driving 'spiritedly'... then i drive the last 2 miles or so back home gently...... or if you live on an estate, just gently in through the estate, in my opinion it's better to cool them down moving anyway... airflow etc....

just a thought on this, i like a nice sound, and don't mind stuff thats loud under full looad as you can driver around without pissing people off... But just think about others, there's a complete **** who lives 10 houses away from me who goes to work at 6:30 and kindly wakes me and all the kids up every morning, along with pretty much most of the neighbours... total dirsrespect for others, i know people up the road have now made a complaint to the council and also to the plod as well to make sure his car is legal...
Its ok having stuff that sound good but for those who live near main road it can seriously ruin there lives, imagine if everyone had the right to have as loud a car as they liked it would ruin everyones life... have some respect for other it aint funny, and you wouln't appreciat it...

Is the bung that you use specific to the blitz or simply to fir a diamiter... I could do with one for the Atom when on track days?

I've got a Nurspec R, with 3inch decat down pipe - and removed the 2.5inch restriction in the centre pipe to cat pipe join - and have an induction kit - and it is LOUD. Think I might get in trouble, so I make sure I don't take the pss/antagonise the neighbours, as I reckon they'd be quite entitled to get pssed off with it. Fortunately it's just a weekend toy and I don't get to use it as much as I'd like - but I tend to drive slowly for about 5 minutes before I get back and then let it cool down in a layby on the main road for a few mins too.

The Nur Spec R comes with a bung - when you look in the tail pipe there's a hole drilled through it to secure the bung. Makes quite bit of a difference - but I can never quite bring myself to use it that much!

just drive the last few miles steady, much better than letting it stand anyway, allows ALL fluids to keep flowing round and cool rather than just engine oil only flow round and cool, and gets the temp down on all parts.

Nur Spec R with a decat is "**** what's that" loud. Crows have been known to have heart attacks and fall from trees.

Seriously, I met someone who's Sunday morning drive routine involved wheeling the car out of the garage before starting it as if he started it up in there, the shock waves would set off all of his neighbours car alarms outside.

I think you should be proud of the sound of your Scooby! Mine is mega loud & I drive slow where I live & round built up areas! I still get lots of dissaproving looks, but I just smile!! Haha!! Maybe they are just JEALOUS!!?? Just take it a bit steady where you live & hopfully no one will complain & think that you are respecting them! Dont get your high heels jammed on your mat like I have before & cant get your foot off the throttle haha! x

I got a NUR spec R and a decat and its loud. i try my best not to upset the neighbours with it though by driving carefully in the steets by mine. I live near a town center though where there are a few boy racers booting it about until late so i thinks the neighbours are used to the noise.
