How much can I expect to pay for insurance?
Im planning on buying my 1st impreza in a month or so. Im 25, nearly 26 and nearly go my 1st year no claims, no points, 1 accident which wasnt my fault, manchester post code.
Ive been told A plan are the first people to call, however they havent called me back twice. Any ideas of what I could pay?

Try Keith Michaels broker. I saved a load even after the Mrs had been playing bumper cars. Just mention you like SIDC and you get a discount. Got mine down to £600 with mods.

dunno why A-plan are saying they have to call you back, they deal with me there and then.
I'd suggest you use the insurance section and call anyone and everyone that is mentioned in there. Having only 1 yr NCB is going to be pushing your luck I am afraid

try www.ecarinsurance fella. im 22 and got insured for £1761 with no ncb and 9 months driving experience.
If you register it at the Hereford address and it 'really' lives in Manchester then it won't be covered if it gets stolen. Especially with young drivers who own sporty cars, they WILL look into it, esp if the car was stolen from somewhere other than the registered address.
Hiya mate try Protection, Retirement, Savings and Investments i went with them and for me to insure an 03 scooby sti it was £790 im 25 3 years no claims and live in the midlands
You can register it where you like as long as you dont mind having policy voided when it comes to claiming and them asking why addresses differ.
Manchester , Liverpool and London poscodes will always be killers though from their claims reputations. Think yourself lucky you dont live in Salford - i've seen £9000 policies there. As for prices i know with the companies i deal with you need to be at least 25, 2 yrs claim free, held a license for a while and they will stipulate tracker and immobilser certificates need to be sent in.
If you met all criteria then you would be looking about the £2k mark too. Your level of NCD will be the crippling factor.
Of course there are always brokers out there that will do you a nice TPO policy for about 1k and may not want to protect their insured interests by requesting trackers and immobilisers but you get what you pay for. You might be able to tax your car and drive it but expec **** all when you need their help - your tied into the policies too with hefty cancellation fees and credit agreements though. Be aware of that and always ask!
You could try adrian flux - i was with them until i bought my scoob and they wouldnt insure me for being too young. Great at solving claims, only took them 6 months to issue me a hefty refund and my proof of bonus i had been waiting for which caused me huge inconveniences with my new comp i work for. Again be aware of what the brokers can be like.
Hope this helps
You could try Privilege they aren't too bad but you need 4yrs no claims
I'm afraid the £1500 you've been quoted is probably about as low as you're going to get considering the lack of NCB

Tesco's was recommended to me by the dealer. i tried a few others first which came in around 12oo but Tesco quoted 700. suddenly went up to about a 1000 once I modified the car. I got 7 years NCB aswell plus I'm 35. But I live in a dodgey area so sheet happens
If i were you i'd aim a little lower and build up some no claims discount otherwise your going to be paying silly money.
Also i wouldn't consider trying to pull a fast one with locations. You will have to insure it where its normally kept otherwise you could kiss goodbye to your policy in the unlucky event of a claim.
I'm with A-Plan by the way and always had good service from them.
Nik.
