For Purely Costmetic reason only I'm wondering what the car will do now as its running at 339bhp & 312lbs Now I've timed the 0-60 and 0-100 in a safe enviroment with a timer on board you can never be 100% I just thought if you guys wanted to get your calculators out for me and let me know as I have no Idea how to work it out. It's MY05 STIppp I did stripped it out Air con Elec Windows Ect but going to put it back as I can't notice the difference. So all stuff back, what do you think the,

IMHO there is no way your car will do a 10.76 0-100mph with 340bhp and 1400kg.

My 400bhp E39 M5 takes 11.5, yes its rwd and slightly heavier but while your car will get off the line nicely, once moving you then have to take into account the additional drivetrain powerlosses from the 4wd system.

My guess is just shy of 12 seconds. You might also just get under 5 sec 0-60 if you give the clutch and box some beans.

 

Agree. I have a 320bhp Classic and my projected 0-60 times and 0-100 times are in the 3.8 and 10.6 second marks if I recall correctly (from lets torque bhp.com) I Doubt these are achievable though, certainly not without being absolutely BRUTAL with the car. I would guesstimate about 5 dead and 12 seconds would be a good repeatable figure!

The quoted figures for my 350bhp T25 is 10.7 to 100.

It weighs in at 1400KG so 10.7 looks realistic for your car

 

Quoted figures and achievable figures are two different things. Unless you setup a similar environment for a run.

I agree though, about 11secs and about 4.4 to 60, as quoted by the TSL333.

 

Indeed, but I'd go further than that and argue that real performance needs to be gauged by figures obtained under repeatable conditions! Manuacturers figures are obtained using techniques that -if you used more than a couple of times- would result in a knackered drivetrain.

For example, you can get a std classic to do low fives 0-60 with brutal treatment!

My Modified Classic will supposedly duck under 4, but I simply wouldn't be prepared to abuse it even once to get that figure. What I've now got is the ability to do 0-60 repeatedly in the low 5s without the need to be brutal.

100mph is 4th gear in a UK classic, so 3 gear changes.....I reckon 11 would be achievable in mine, but that'd involve 3 hell-ish gear changes. 12 would be a repeatable figure IMHO.

Power to weight is a very good guide for these runs, it's not all the be all. eg, a UK turbo might produce 5krpm 240 bhp 6krpm 320bhp 7krpm 290bhp and a twin scroll turbo might produce 5krpm 280bhp 6krpm 320bhp 7krpm 300 bhp. obviously the same weight car will perform differently

so really not Max BHP that counts but the average between gear changes.

IMHO most Newage UKPPP Sti are around 11.8 -12.8

My T20 is around 10.9

The other thing is, it's one thing taking a stopwatch with an itchy trigger finger and your speedo, and anothing thing altogether with proper GPS timing gear and a closed runway. Speedo's under-read, and manually operated stopwatches are innaccurate at best. It's a *serious* car that can get into the 10.something seconds.

I went to Thruckmorton with Worcester Japanese Performance Club There was loads of Marques Scoobs, type R's, Pulsar most claiming much more Power and lighter than mine but most came unstuck when trying compete against my T20 , 350bhp even a couple of 400bhp classics

althought my T20 is not caught on the video below will give you an Idea of the Cars and runs.

The only one to beat me in the timed runs was a 350bhp Pulsar by 0.02sec , the next closest IIRC to us was nearly 1.5 seconds slower. although in the head to head against the Pulsar we had 2 runs I beat him by about 2 car lenths both times

Got me thinking then. I wonder how a WR1 can get 10.25sec 0-100 and thats only 320bhp. thats quoted on Prodrive's Website. Just a though??

Alex, I think there was a lot made of those claims by all the press reviews of the WR1, where none of the testers were able to come even close to the times Prodrive apparently achieved.

Evo were only able to achieve 5.3 and 13.1 with datalogging, and they are not exactly gentle on their test cars!

 

Just dug out the feature.

P1 made 13.3
Type 25 made 10.6
WR1 made 13.1
