Cool 8Kg flywheel off API

Just some info:

API have just done my Type R gearbox for my hillclimb car.
While the box was out David there fitted a new API lightened flywheel, skimmed and balanced etc.

Drives really well, smooth and responsive but no different to stock when pulling off/out of junctions, but far far better response.

Great mod!
Graham.

Yeah, i shoulda got a lighter one and not the totally light one i have in. LOL.
You live and learn!
But it does make a difference to the response and stuff for sure.
I think the 5.3 kg i have is a little on the light side for my driving.

Too true.
Having raced today in practice for tomorrow the flywheel is really really nice.
No probs with drag starts and very smooth (dare I say smoother than stock!)
Clutch bites good and hard as it always does, so chuffed.

David: Steering is just so good now to me after the diff, chopped time off my pb today by miles.
Quick rack goes on on Monday. Will let you know how it goes.

Very plussed so far.

DropShots Day

I just had one fitted last week and it drives great, a very worthwhile mod and really noticeably better straight away. Driving other cars I really feel the weight of their standard heavy flywheels now.

To repeat, mine is just great AND i would say better than the one that came off for smoothness, dead chuffed.
David: quickrack in now with a small weep as I didn't replace the o rings on the pipes...numpty.

Will report back this weekend when i race again.
Car is a sheer delight to drive now, thanks for all the help in recent weeks.

ps: pm a cost for the rack so i can break it to the Boss over a glass of red. (a large glass as the Brownie Points are low atm)
