Witter do a towbar, with the option to have a quick release ball - i opted to have the std one though because the ball/shaft can be taken off by removing 2 bolts and looks neater than the quick release one when off.
Im pretty sure that its the same as what Subaru use.

I'm not laughing - I want to tow a trailer with a Caterham on it with my STi.
Watch the fuel economy plummet and watch out for boost at the wrong time !
I want a removeable tow bar though - easyrider is it easy to take off / put on the standard one then?

I recently saw an 05 WRX wagon towing a 2 horse, 2 axle horse box.
I couldn't see if the nags were in it or not, maybe using it for removals or something.
People do do it. Plenty of traction.

I don't care about the flame suit, I'm used to it..lol!!
I towed a caravan (albeit a very very small one) with my WRX '03. I used the single electrics towbar from Subaru. It cost circa £150 and I fitted it myself with a broken bone in my right hand, so it isn't hard to do.
Performed faultlessy with my 'ickle c'van and wasn't that awful looking sat there all the time either. Plus, it gives a bit of protection from numpties parking behind you.
I also liked being a bit controversial having one too.
I'm soon to put one on my Spec D...lol!!
60 mph in 5th was right off boost, so a change down to 4th was necessary for any overtaking and fuel consumption wasn't affected by towing (really!).
It'll be fine.
Nige.

Yes-just undo 2 19mm bolts and the ball and bar drop off,2 min job-and is even more stealthier than the pic in the post above.

I have a bossal one with quick release ball on my 03 sti. Tows well, not as good as the wifes discovery though. People like to stare at the subaru though, fully rally graphics and a caravan or trailer.

I would have thought if the horses were in it then it would be over the maximum permissible towing weight for the construction and use of the car? 85% is the EU recommendation....

I've towed a 15 foot caravan hundreds of miles with my classic, although it is modded a bit;( (The car, not the van).
It tows well, and has performed faultlessly with three large teenaged lads in the rear, wife and self in the front, and four MTB's on the roof.
And yes, the fuel consumption hardly alters.
