Default pics needed with 215 40 17 tyres on please

version 5 or 6 classic with 17 inch alloys.

i have 215 45 17 profile tyre on at the mo, and am wondering if the 40 profile will make the gaps between the arches look really big as i would of changed down from a 45 to 40 profile tyre.

am running standard suspension

thanks

are they 210 40 17 on standard suspension?

have you got a pic with a full side view please,

not sure how much difference the 40 over the 45 would make to the look of the car?

thanks

ive just gone from 45 to 40 and can really notice the difference, i can feel absolutely everything in the road, not good if you have lots of pot holes

just remembered, i lowered the car by 35ml a few years ago. as i remember with the 45's on i could have put my head between the tyre and wheel arch

and that is the standard ride hight? looks good to me, i thought there would be more of a gap between the top of the tyre and wheel arch, but yours looks good to me

Running 215/45/17's on a classic will put your speedo out, ie says your running 30, actually running 35.
It will make the car under read (thats illegal by the way).
215/40/17 isnt the correct size either, but its closest to the 205/45/17 size that prodrive used on the P1, 215/40/17 is used because of the limited choice of tyres in the 205/45 range, and the rolling circumference is the closest match.

Tony

me either, surely the tyres would fill to much of the arch, and the speedo will be way way out...... well at least under read due to the bigger circumference?

andy

p.s. heres a recent pic from donnington 2007 with the flaps on. this is with total standard suspension. looks quite low imho with the flaps

no worries glad i could help. i personally prefer the toyos for grip in the wet, but it was a choice between the yoko's and the toyos. assuming they have a similar tyre wall.

p.s. mudflaps are only £40-50 off performance creations...

This is with the prodrive handling pack, springs & dampers
215/45/17 s make it look like a beach buggy with balloon tyres IMHO

ive had both sizes on my car and theres not a massive difference in respect to filling the arches or the speedo, with 45s on speedo said 30 tom tom said 28mph 40s on speedo said 30 tom tom was saying 27 so not muuch difference at all

as for ride comfort sod it go for 40s handling is improved quite abit
i had 45s on for over a year and prefer the 40s loads more
