how much gearbox oil ?

Default how much gearbox oil ?

just a quickie- how much oil does a gearbox take from empty. thanks

should be just under 4 Q from empty, depending on model,

this is for 5MT(5 speed) and for an impreza.... you could also look in your manual, and if your changing the tranny oil, dont forget the rear diff!

it is .9 Q but take the top plug out first, because if you take the bottom out, and for some reason the top is stuck in, youve got a diff with no fluid

your saying quartz i think thats what the "q" stands for ; unfortunately we have to have the metric system here due to brussels so most dont understand the old system

4.1 ish litres in my dccd Type R 5 speeder, 1 litre in my plated R160 rear diff.
Different oil in both mind.

quarts , OZs miles, pounds, inches, degrees F, gallons, tons(not tonnes)

imperial is the only way i measure.

Unless you use something like the Silktran Syn5, which is API4/5 rated and can be used in both

What oil is suitable for R160? I was going to use Motul gear300 for STi version 6 Type-R gearbox and I'm not sure what to use for the reardiff.
