Question 6 speeder diff ratios

What ratio of the front diff does the Jap 6 speeders come with?

Can the CW&P of the 5 speeder fit the 6 speeder's front diff?

I have currently a Type R trans with a 4:444 front diff with plated lsd.

If it breakes, then the 6 speeder is attactive as a replacement, but i do not want to change my current plated 4:444 R160 diff.

Graham.

The ratio's are the same on pre 06 cars in 1-4, 5 & 6 are lower on the JDM, though not sure of the ratio's on em but it equates to about 170-172mph achievable speed.
Rear diff on these is a plated R180 so you probably will have to change.

Graham, JDM and Type UK both have 3.9:1 ratio front diffs, they just use different transfer box ratios, 1:1 in JDM and 1.1:1 in Type UK. The 5 speed front CWP won't fit, the diffs are different

TBH Graham, despite the cost I think that would be the most sensible option for you...You have a spare casing now don't you? I know you don't have a spare plated front diff, but you could get a gear set made up now as a precaution using all the parts you have got just in case...

I'm keeping the spare V3 box'diff stock as part payment to David for the demon ppg he will build for me if/when the current one pops..

They be worth about £2500 I recon

The way the hillclimb class is going, this car needs to be gutted, welded, plastic windows and doors and for me to go on a diet and miss the API Bacon Buttie run on a saturday!

ppg, semi helical, sychro...twin plare Exedy...6000 rpm and dump the clutch...halfshafts next?
2.35 CDB and one of those Lateral turbo's should see me divorced.

I could afford it al then and climb a hill 2 seconds faster!

Value for money indeed.

Graham

I can just see/feel/hear that in my car in a traffic jam crawling along at 15 mph.
Semi/sychro for me!
