You can't make a car look newer than it is - i.e. you can only buy from 'A' to 'R' reg.

On my x-mas list is going to be a private plate for the scoob,
just need to know if anyone else has used anyone good.

Its got to have something to do with the car in the plate, like AARONs plate which I think is 5cooby, something like that anyway

So if you can advise, it would be very appreciated by the person who is buying for me.

Thanks

Goto http://www.dvla-som.co.uk and search for what you want.

e.g. S9OOB - £250 including transfer.

Plenty of other interesting plates if you search hard enough. Some number plate agencies advertise plates which are still at the DVLA - at sometimes twice the price.

Cheers,

Ian.

Thumbs up

I agree with Ian, I saw my plate advertised in trade ad, then bought it from DVLA and saved £200!

Being sneaky, I use http://www.new-reg.co.uk/ to search, as they have a better search system than the DVLA then http://www.dvla-som.co.uk to see if I can get it cheaper.
I had a quick look tonight, S55 REX for £494, a few S600BY* still available at £244, and S55 WRC for £3,580 !! Hmm, the DVLA have S55 REX for £250, so worth checking once you've found something you like. Maybe it's time for a private plate . No S55 MDB on either though .
Martin.

Thanks very much for all these, ant other ideas would be appreciated, its to go on a TERZO.

This may sound thick but cos i've got an R reg does it mean I need a plate starting with R, or is that only if you make your own up??

More ideas though, excellent stuff, just trying to rack my brains on a few combinations.

Thanks all

"T200 AWD" no use to you then !

There's other 'AWD' numbers available - you're going to struggle to get a TERZO looking number cos 'z' aint available as a letter (something to do with it looking like a 2 !). Concentrate on SCOOBY numbers !

Tough one. How about A13 RSO with a carefully placed screw at the top of the one. £250 all in....

Should have got a WRX, much easier

Don't think you'll get cheaper than the DVLA.
If it is for sale on there then I would say use them. With NewReg and Elite etc I think that there is still the transfer fee and/or VAT to be added, the DVLA web price is the total price you pay.
