Question Is white the new black?

Over the last few days I've seen the following 07 cars:

Golf GTi
5 series Beemer
New shape TT

All of them have looked really good. I know that white has been out of fashion over the last few years, but perhaps it maybe coming back into vogue.

What are your thoughts?

You know what, I had you in mind when I posted this up.

The difference is, none of the above look like an Ambulance car

white is definitely the "in" colour.....especially when you have a little bit of red and silver on it as well

I think white looks awesome on certain type of cars. Two come to my mind and stick out like sore thumbs:

Mitsubishi Evo 5/6 in white
Scooby Classic/Newage/New Newage

The best white I have seen was on a beautiful Sierra Cosworth RS 500. Had an off-white colour (probably cream or some kind of pearl tint). Looked stunning.

But there are some cars that shouldn't be white and I think thats probably more to do with the paint finish itself.

Black has always been black. It's always the connoisseur's choice.

White is definitely the new blue. White cars look wicked, as long as they're kept clean.

How do you keep the "crevices" clean though it's driving me nuts as it's fecking hard to get rid of

TX.

[edit - crevices incl wheel arch extensions, behind the front nr plate, front spoiler/splitter, under rear spoiler etc]

Saw a new Focus ST in white today, with "RS" stripes in blue. That looked very nice indeed.

cotton wool buds (no really!) mate got some monitor/computer cleaning ones that have a longer stem on them and they get into the nooks and crannies great

mind you, my neighbour walking past and laughing over the weekend has made me aware of how daft i look 'has it got earwax mate' cheeky ******!

just read your edit, don't struggle too much with the no. plate as it's an illegal size so it's a piece of pi55 to clean around it
corner of the front splitter in the middle is the bit i miss most.

as for the rear spoiler, get a real one then you won't have any trouble

I was just thinking this very thing over the past few weeks. White is becoming the new black, but not every car can pull it off. Saw a white Overfinch Range Rover Sport the other day, looked FAB !

Got a bit of a dilemma here, chaps.
Wife is getting a new co. car soon. 525d M Sport. Do we order one in White?
As it's not our problem with depreciation, what do you think. I've never seen one in white so don't know how it'd look......but I do really like white cars ( especially with dark wheels).

Black, Dolphin Grey or Blue are the colours for a M Sport.. they just don't look right in anything else.

Yeah, I did think about the Carbon Black - M Sport only colour and a bit purpley in certain lights. Wife likes the Mystic Blue but it looks a bit girly IMO.
Just thought the White would go against the grain, if you know what I mean?

Far too many drab colours on our roads
Don't follow the rest ! Be different & order a WHITE one
I had a look around a tescos car park & not one single white car all silver, blue, black or grey how sad ?
Good job I've ordered a white sti
Been told by a stealer that white is a desirable colour now & so rare, they can charge more ! !

I hated the white scoob when I was shopping in 99/2000. If it's done well though, it can look great, and with white alloys - wow! Pain to keep looking good though.

Default sexy scoob

pretty sure that white is not the new black because its white... and black is black.

So i think that white is just sexy especially on a scoob (mines blue, well sort of the new black because its dirty).
