Rich,

It's great to be corrected, no problem, this is what the bbs is all about. I must however point out that I got my info from here.

http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/B...sti6_index.htm

Sorry to have caused confusion, but I thought I could have trusted the info on that site. I suppose you can't believe everything you read.

Wrexy.

The version 6 came out in late 1999 and carried over till almost the end of 2000. It did not come out in sonic blue. The version 5 did. The 6 came out in White, Cashmere yellow, coolgrey (blue steel), black and arctic silver. The 5 came out in WRC blue (sonic blue), coolgrey, black, white and siver.

You'll find heaps of sonic blue cars in members gallery, it is the P1 colour. So if you don't know what sonic blue looks like, look for a P1 in members gallery, Unless the pic you request is an STI in sonic blue, but it won't be a 6.

Can't help with your third question.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Hate to correct you Wrexy but there are 4,500 'sonic blue' Version 6's!

All the STi Version 6 V-Limited models (Type R, Type RA, Wagon and Saloon) came in 'sonic blue'.

For scans of the original factory brochures, look here:

Hey Rich
I have an STi5 Type R v-limited, am I right in thinking that only 1000 of those were ever made in the whole world ???? or is it the 6's that were 1000 of ??
cheers
Dan

Dan,

Absolutely! In fact, I had one other one too - so we know there's at least two in the UK. Only another 998 to account for! Without a doubt this car was the fastest accelerating thing at any speed, especially FROM a ton! - NOTHING could keep up with me on the motorway - it was always funny to 'play' with Porsches!

(I had the HKS induction kit and a Mongoose system on mine at the time.)

However, I have to say that I holed one of my pistons when only the once I put in Regular Unleaded (because I couldn't find any Super) and then proceeded to drive at high revs - it was a late night, I had 220 miles ahead of me and I just forgot ok!.

I suggest to anyone who has an STi5 or 6 - to be on the safe side, get the ECU chipped to UK fuel using a LINK or UNICHIP or similar device. Also, it's worth upgrading the fuel pump as the standard one apparently can starve one of the pistons of fuel at high revs.

Otherwise, it's the best and fastest Scooby still, bar the 22B of course.

Rich.

Wrexy,

no, no the info there was correct, it was a translation of the 'standard' WRX website: http://202.217.201.209/showroom/wrx/index.htm

Subaru also created an additional website for their V-Limited models! This was: http://202.217.201.209/showroom/wrxlimited/index.htm

Which this Geocities website didn't translate!

Sadly, the sites are now defunct due to the new model
