How to avoid speeding fines?
Hi Guys,
My other half (who drives round like a granny normally) has just got a mobile camera ticket through the post. This will be her 2nd in 3 years, so upto 6 points. I did a quick google search and there are a couple of sites which have either a book to get you off or pre-laid out letters which you just fill your details in.
Have any of you actually used these and more to the point do they work.
I by the way - WRX (MY55) have no points (yet) but the way she is going will have to take a hit for her soon!
Moving on is it worth getting a radar detector for mobile camera vans?
I did have a bog standard snooper a couple of years back, that did not pick up mobile ones - are there any decent ones out there?
Any thoughts greatly apprieciated.

It's Pslewis he has a foolproof way of avoiding fines, must be late because I'm sure he'd love to share it. He'll tell you not to speed

Pete makes an excellent point that if nobody exceeds the speed limit then there will be no revenue for the camera partnerships and they will die, happy thought.
On a practical note I have a TALEX LITE which is cheap and has the best database of potential mobile sites that I have come across, does the trick for me.

Imagine - instead of adding names to useless fruitless petitions - everyone in the country decides NOT to speed for a week!? ... in protest!
Then, another week after that, then another ........
The speed enforcement will cost MUCH more to administer than they are getting back in fines and the detector vans and cameras will disappear!!
Might take a month - might take 2 months - 3 maybe, but it WOULD happen!!
Or, do as you always do, and bleet and cry and blubber that you have been caught by a camera once again! Year after year after year ....

True ... therefore I feel that I can speak from a position of strength ... it was about 16 years ago and I haven't had a speeding ticket since!
For what it's worth ... I huffed, I puffed, I wrote to my MP and to the Chief of Police!!! I was mad that they were there for the school run but NOT when the scroates were driving about at high speed on a Friday night (along the same stretch of road).
I told the Chief of Police that his men were attacking a soft target ..... he told me, quite rightly, that there is no softer target than a childs head - and speeding means that it is more likely that that childs head is under my wheels!
I learned my lesson, paid the fine and swore to keep an eye on my speed ....... so far so good
